Here's a couple pictures from our trip to Tracy Aviary here in Salt Lake. The kids loved all the birds, especially the owl forest.
We went ice staking a few weeks ago. It was Owen's first time and he did really well. It was also Ian's first time. I didn't think they would have skates small enough, but they did. Kaelyn hasn't been for a long time but she took off and didn't look back.

We get the tickets for Disney on Ice through Craig's work so we get to go before the show and meet a couple of the characters. Owen was too scared this time so he's not in the picture.
As you can see on the poster behind the kids, we went to Disney On Ice. They had a great time.

Ian

Ian is getting so big. He will be two in about two weeks. Everyday he is learning new words and getting into everything. His professional occupation is mess making and he excels at it. He loves all things boys especially trains.

Grandma Hart went to Disney Land and brought back these cute hats for the kids. Kaelyn and Owen both have their names written on the back of their hats.

Kaelyn and Owen both love their little brother. They both snuggled up with him and asked me to take a picture. Owen loves to hold Ian and gets mad if I try to take him away even if he's crying. Kaelyn loves to hold him too but the second he starts to cry she's ready to give him back.

Kaelyn had another great soccer game today. She had lots of fun and scored six goals. Last week she scored one goal. So far she is the lone goal scorer for her team, but maybe that's how it goes because the other team had their own "Kaelyn". There was a boy on the other team who scored all of their goals. I lost count, but he scored eight or nine goals for his team.

After the soccer game and Owen's nap we went to feed the ducks and geese at Wheeler Farm. Well, Kaelyn fed the ducks while Owen chased them. We also looked at the other farm animals there and enjoyed the beautiful weather.

This is one of the goals Kaelyn scored at her first soccer game. She scored all three of her teams goals and even scored one for the other team. The one for the other team did come right after half time when they switched directions so it's easy to understand her confusion. The first goal she scored was great. She didn't start the game but went in a few minutes later. When they called her name she ran onto the field as fast as she could, went straight for the ball, dribbled it down the field and scored all within thirty seconds.

He's Here!

Ian Jan Hart arrived at 12:41 am on Sunday February 21st. He weighed 6 lbs 14 oz and was 22 inches long. He was choking on fluid when first born so I didn't get to hold him for what seemed like forever but it was probably only ten minutes. The doctor was going to set him on my belly when he was born but I guess his umbilical cord was too short. He did receive good apgar scores, an 8 and then a 10.

I only wanted to stay one night so I could be home for Owen's birthday the next day, but Ian had other ideas. Ian had jaundice and had to be put under the light bed for a day, which means I only got to see him at feeding times. He also had to be watched because I was positive for Strep B and they were not able to get enough antibiotics in me before he was born. In the end Ian was fine. The jaundice went down and all other tests came back normal. Poor Ian's feet looked awful because of all the times they had to take blood. They had to test his blood for the bilirubin count and also every four hours for hypoglycemia (because he was a little under weight) and the group B strep. Now we've been home a week and everything is going pretty well.

Highlights from the last couple weeks

What are big sisters for if not to dress up their younger brothers. Kaelyn helped Owen out of his clothes and into this dress. She also added a ring and bracelet and some princesses shoes to complete the outfit. Before dressing him Owen decided to go on his little potty and Kaelyn decided to help him put on a new diaper. I went upstairs to find him laying perfectly still and Kaelyn doing a pretty good job of putting a diaper on him.

Owen's first night in his "big boy" bed was about a week and a half ago. He was almost asleep when I found him like this. Since then he has only slept in there a couple times because he thinks it's time to play not sleep, especially since he's in the same room as Kaelyn.

The day after he slept in his bed he got hold of a marker and decided to paint the cat blue.

Yesterday Owen decided to help do the dishes and dumped almost the entire box of dishwasher soap in the dishwasher. A couple of weeks ago we cleaned the carpets upstairs and Owen some how got hold of the newly opened bottle of carpet cleaning solution. He dump the entire bottle on the carpet and then tried to clean it up with toilet paper. I was downstairs doing dishes and I kept hearing the toilet flushing upstairs. He was putting the toilet paper he used to clean up the mess in the toilet and then flushing it. It's so nice that he likes to help clean.

Not Working

Owen has been interested in going to the bathroom lately and he's actually been successful a few times. This morning I was changing him for the day when he decided he wanted to go potty, so to the bathroom we go. Owen sits down on his little potty chair and after a few seconds he looks down and says, "not working", so then he climbs onto the big toilet to try and again looks down after a couple seconds and says, "not working". Funny little kid.

So I decide to try this blogging thing again. Owen is now almost two years old and Kaelyn just turned four. Baby number three is due in just over five weeks and as of right now his name is going to be Baby Number Three Hart, it has a nice ring to it don't you think.

Owen is ready to move. He tries so hard to move. He can roll over and turn himself in a circle, but it doesn't get him very far. I put him in this bumbo seat the other day and he shifted his body so one leg was on the ground and he pushed himself across the bathroom floor. Of course when I got the camera out he didn't perform as well, but it gives you some idea of what I am taking about.

Here Kaelyn is with a sparkler. She likes fireworks, but thinks they can be too loud. The funny part about this picture is her snow boots. We tried all winter long to get her to wear them and she didn't want to, but now that it's summer snow boots are in.

Kaelyn likes to hold Owen. She'll often say "take a picture" when she holds him since we've done so the last few times.

Here are some fun pictures of Owen.
